The Santa Claus Parade
Santa officially arrives downtown at the Défilé du père Noël, expected on Saturday, November 21, 2026, on René-Lévesque Boulevard. Elves have collected letters to Santa along the route in past years. Parade guide
Santa’s Kingdom at Complexe Desjardins
Year after year, Santa sets up his kingdom (Royaume du père Noël) at Complexe Desjardins, in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles. He welcomes children on a grand throne under a huge Christmas tree. There’s also a little train, face painting and free children’s shows with choirs and dancers. In 2025 it ran from November 22 to December 24, and on weekends families could book a time to meet Santa.
- Where: Complexe Desjardins, 150 Sainte-Catherine Street West
- Metro: Place-des-Arts
- Price: Free entry; some activities have a small fee
The Christmas markets
Santa has visited the Christmas Village at Atwater Market on Saturdays and Sundays in past seasons, between the fire pits and the artisan chalets. The village runs from November 26 to December 24, 2026. Markets guide
Shopping centres
Many malls in Montreal and the suburbs have a Santa’s village with photo sessions in December. Check your local mall’s website for the schedule and whether you need to book.
Write to Santa
Canada Post has a famous tradition: letters addressed to Santa Claus, North Pole, H0H 0H0, Canada get a reply, with no stamp needed. Check Canada Post’s website for the deadline to send letters.
Tips
- Book where you can. Weekend slots for photos fill up quickly in December.
