Montreal loves a themed holiday bar. Every year, a handful of bars transform into over-the-top Christmas wonderlands with tinsel, festive cocktails and novelty mugs. Here are the Christmas pop-up bars to watch for in 2026.
Pop-up bars announce their dates and locations in November. Details below are from the 2025 season; check each bar’s social media for 2026.
Miracle Montréal
Miracle is the original Christmas cocktail pop-up, now in more than 200 cities around the world, and Montreal was one of its early homes. In 2025, hospitality entrepreneur Kevin Demers brought it back to Old Montreal at the Tittle Tattle bar on Saint-Paul Street, from November 26 to December 27, with kitschy decor, Christmas-movie cocktails, collectible mugs and Christmas karaoke nearby.
Vive le vent at Le 9e (Eaton Centre)
In 2025, the historic Art Deco 9th floor of the Eaton Centre became Vive le vent, a holiday pop-up bar themed around Home Alone 2. It ran until December 31.
La Taverne de Noël at Petit Dep
The Petit Dep grocery-cafés have turned into a cozy Christmas tavern for the holidays, with a neighbourhood-pub feel. In 2025 it ran until January 11.
Secrets Christmas bar (Old Montreal)
A hidden holiday bar in the basement of Caribbean fusion restaurant Kwizinn in Old Montreal, with festive cocktails, punches and hot chocolates.
Holiday drinks at the Christmas markets
For an outdoor drink, head to the Great Christmas Market for mulled wine by the fire pits, or the Christmas Village at Atwater Market.
Tips
- Go early or on a weeknight. Popular pop-ups have long lines on Friday and Saturday nights.
- Bring ID. The drinking age in Quebec is 18.
- Take transit home. The last metros leave around 12:30 a.m. on weeknights and a little later on Saturdays; check the STM for exact times.
