About LUMINO
Produced by the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership, LUMINO (formerly known as Luminothérapie) has been lighting up Montreal winters for more than 15 years. The 2025–26 edition featured 35 works at some fifteen indoor and outdoor locations. Many installations react to movement, touch or sound, and new works are added in mid-January.
Why it’s perfect at Christmas
LUMINO surrounds the Great Christmas Market and the Esplanade Tranquille rink, so one evening in the Quartier des spectacles covers the market, skating and the lights.
Tips
- Use the interactive map on the LUMINO website to find every installation.
- Go with kids early in the evening: it’s dark by about 4:15 p.m. in December.
- Dress warmly: you’ll be walking outside between installations. Weather guide
